A Scare of a Dare (Diary of a Minecraft Zombie #1), by Zack Zombie

24822138.jpgReview by Jack

This book is about Zombie and Steve. They are two friends in the last book that I read. Steve and Zombie wanted to switch bodies so they switched bodies but now they want to switch back.

I like this book because they have to get through a lot of things before they can switch back. Also, this book has a lot of funny things in it, like on the first day of school they were teaching them how to kill a zombie and Zombie runs straight out of class the throws up.

I liked this book probably the whole time. I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to everyone who can read.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1), by Suzanne Collins

2767052.jpgReview by Danielle

Today I’m doing a book report on a book called “The Hunger Games.” I recommend this book if you like mystery or action. The reason I love this book is because it is detailed and it makes me want to read more.

Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the district in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games. It is a fight to the death on live TV. I give this book 4 ½ out of 5 stars.

The Third Wheel (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #7), by Jeff Kinney

13563669.jpgReview by Elizabeth

This book I’m going to talk about is Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Third Wheel. The author of the book is Jeff Kinney. I always wanted his autograph. I am very interested in this book and this is why. When I first started reading this book I thought it would be like the same old books, but no.

It was way better! The main theme about the book is Greg’s Valentine’s Day Dance turned upside down. Did I mention the characters? Well the main characters are Greg, Riley, and Roderick. Sometimes I think that some of the book parts aren’t that interesting and here’s why. When Greg’s at school all the author talks about is if there was a burglar of the characters talking about sleepovers and it just is frustrating when you get stuck in a part of the book but you want to get over it.

It’s just so annoying. You know, right? Don’t’ you just hate it but after all it is a good book. Also it is fiction and I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Then, I recommend to others because they might have different opinions. All in all it was all right.

A Star Witness (Nancy Drew Clue Book #3), by Carolyn Keane

24885690.jpgReview by Caitlyn

My book review is on a book called “Nancy Drew, A Star Witness.” There are three girls and their names are Nancy, Bess, and George in the book. The book is in a series of books. A Star Witness is book #3.

I would recommend this book. If you like mysteries this would be a good book for you. I like Nancy Drew, A Star Witness because before they tell you who the thief is they let you guess the thief. The genre of the book is fiction and mystery.

The story is about three girls trying to help Dr. Arnot find the telescope called the Starship 5,000 because someone has stolen it. They have to search the whole museum. When they go inside the darkroom for the security, they get a lot of clues.

In the end they figure out the thief. I would give the book 5 stars out of 5 because it had some cliffhangers. When I read it I could not put it down. In my opinion the book was entertaining.

The Storybook of Legends (Ever After High #1), by Shannon Hale

18053786.jpgReview by Micah Sage

Hi! My book is called “Ever After High.” I would recommend this book to somebody who likes to read a lot because this book has more than 25 chapters. This book is 100 percent fiction and 0 percent of non fiction. People who don’t like books without pictures shouldn’t read this book.

It starts on a normal day where the sons and daughters are getting ready for their second year of “Ever After High.” One girl named Raven Queen, daughter of the Evil Queen, is having breakfast with her dad the Good King. After they ate breakfast she went to see her mother who was locked up in mirror prison because she tried to take over the whole entire world. Raven doesn’t want to be the evil queen. But her mom convinces her to be evil. While that is happening Apple White, daughter of Snow White, was at school getting ready for her new roommate, Raven. She thought it was a good idea because she could maybe get Raven to follow her destiny. When Raven got there she didn’t stop at her dorm. She went to see the “Storybook of Legends.” She wanted to see her destiny. She saw an unsigned page and wondered if she spoofed. Apple and Raven went on an adventure to the Marsh King and the Goblin Mountain. At a cave she saw the person was dead. At the end of the story Raven didn’t sign the “Storybook of Legends.” Apple was so mad they weren’t friends anymore.

I would give this book 4 ½ stars out of 5. The reason is because they don’t describe everything. Also there were cliffhangers and I hate cliffhangers. I also saw the show and it was nothing like the book. They didn’t have the adventures that the book had. Go read the book and see what you think about it.

Magic or Not? by Edward Eager

312080.jpgReview by Sydney Posch

Magic or Not is a book by Edward Eager. It is a fantasy and a fast paced book. I would recommend this book to someone who likes adventure, mysteries, and magic. I read the book in about two or three days. Magic or Not is a easy book to read and you should definitely be able to read it and I just know you will enjoy it.

The story begins with a boy named James and a girl named Laura who are twins and they are moving to a red house. That’s all they know. When they are at their new house they discover a wishing well in the front yard. Soon they make friends with other people who live on their street. Life is going smoothly, hanging with friends and discovering the area.
Then Laura makes a wish and it comes true… or did it? She still hadn’t known her friends too long by this point in the book, and wishes for one kitten. She got two, a white and black, but the tree was in the wrong spot. James didn’t believe her about the wish and soon he figured out that their friends had tricked Laura. One had given her the kittens, the other moved the tree.

They had many more adventures and also met a new friend named Gordy. Over the summer, magic was working but a few days after school started, they found a house in the woods, and made it their little meeting place but this only happened because of the magic, or was it just a coincidence in finding the desks and key and where it was found in their friends home.

Suddenly the magic wasn’t working and wouldn’t change a thing that happened. They figured out a kind and useful wish will work and a mean and selfish won’t. They kept meting at the house and talking about magic. Their hopes were gone and they had pretty much given up when…that’s for you to find out. I liked this book because it had lots of cliffhangers and gave good details about the story. I would give this book 4.5 stars because it was so interesting and just the title of the book made me want to read it. Now there’s one question, is it Magic or Not?

This is a book report about the book “The Lost Hero.”  This book takes place in a lot of different places.  The character’s names are Jason, Leo, and Piper. The genre is fiction and adventure.

I like this book because it is very long and that is what I like. Also I liked that every chapter there was a different perspective. I also like that they have to solve problems. I also like it because I get to learn about Greece.

I would not recommend this to a friend because my reading level is over grade level. Also because it has 553 pages.

I give this book 5 stars because it is in my top 3 favorite books.

Big Nate, by Lincoln Peirce

7150178.jpgReview by Talien

I would recommend this book to someone who likes jokes and tons of comics.

This book is about a kid named Nate who gets into a lot of trouble. He is a sixth grader and he hates his teacher called Mrs. Goofry and he has to make silly and mean comics about her. When she sees them he gets detention and he makes all these goals and he totally fails them. He plays an a baseball team called Jose’s Pizza. They lose all the time. He has a best friend named Francis and they sit right next to each other in class. Nate is really bad with his homework do he copies every single thing Francis does and then they both get in to trouble and get sent to detention. You can see that Nate gets sent to the principle’s office a lot because he has a spot that he always has to sit in or he will get really mad.

Now every summer he goes to the beach and tries to impress the ladies by throwing a frisbee by them but he always fails and hits the girl. He is always stressed about summer he is always counting the minutes that have passed. Francis likes to spend his summer just chilling around. They love each other so much that they both were each other for Halloween. Francis really loves school and is the total opposite of Nate. He likes a girl named Jenny.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

The Battle of the Labyrinth, by Rick Riordan

2120932.jpgReview by Conrad Stewart

Rick Riordan’s The Battle of the Labyrinth is an interesting book about a kid named Percy Jackson, who is a son of Poseidon, and saves the world from a Greek Titan named Kronos. In this fourth book of the Percy Jackson series, Percy attends a camp for Half-Bloods. Percy finds an old enemy named Luke, but Luke has golden eyes instead of blue, which means Luke sacrificed his body for Kronos. The main characters in this book are Percy, Annabeth, Nico (a son of Hades), Tyson, Grover and, of course, Kronos. This book’s genre provides fantasy and adventure by telling the story of Greek gods and war with their enemies.

What I like about this book is that there is a lot of action and battling occurring. I have to say that the first book in the series was definitely my favorite. But the author Rick Riordan does a great job at continuing to entertain me and other readers that like Percy Jackson’s character and stories of Greek gods. I did not like that at some points in the story things got a little confusing. For example, I did not get the part about why Daedalus was acting as a different person and spying on Camp Half-Blood. Maybe you could read the story and let me know what you think.

I would give this book 4 ½ stars out of 5. I really recommend it to anyone who likes Greek gods and stories of adventure and fantasy. I really love this book and the rest of the Percy Jackson series. I hope you enjoy it too!
